I have lived here on Okinawa for over two years and for some reason my wife and I miss out on the chance to see one of the great events on the island. The Great Tug of War challenge is held annually in Naha, Okinawa and draws in thousands of spectators to Kumoji crossing.
Fortunately, my wife and I had the opportunity this year to take part in the 38th annual Tug of War challenge.
The rope itself consist of two 300-foot sections weighing 44 tons. The two sections become joined by a massive 10-foot wooden peg making it a Guinness World Record.
