Eli and company shock the 18-0 Patriots in Glendale, AZ
It would be an understatement to say that the New England Patriots were favorites coming into tonight’s game. However, The New York “football” Giants pulled off one of the most fascinating comebacks in all of NFL history. They beat the New England Patriots 17-14 in what looked to be another heroic comeback win for Tom Brady in the final minutes of regulation. When it was all finished, the Giants were left celebrating with the coveted Vince Lombardi trophy.

The Patriots
The 1972 Dolphins can finally start celebrating! The Patriots did not win the Super Bowl and finished the season 18-1…It almost brings tears to my eyes. However, because I am a Patriots fan, let’s take a look at what they did accomplish this year before falling short in Super Bowl 42.
- Most Points in a Season
- Most Touchdowns in a Season
- Tom Brady took over the Most Touchdowns Passing in a Season
- Randy Moss took over the Most Touchdowns Receiving in a Season
- Most wins in a regular season
- Most consecutive wins in the regular season
- Tom Brady set the record for highest completion percentage in a playoff game
New York’s aggressive defense combined with Eli Manning’s cool play ended a controversial and record breaking season for the Patriots. It was Eli’s cool play that would earn him the Most Valuable Player award in Super Bowl 42, one year after brother Peyton earned it for leading the Indianapolis Colts to a victory in Super Bowl 41. Unfortunately, this years National Football League champions are the NEW YORK GIANTS!
