I think once you get a DSLR you learn much faster, especially if you are out taking nearly a 1,000 shots a week as I have been. What lenses do you have? I have the Nikkor 18-200mm VR lens and the Nikkor 50mm 1.8D lens. I still love the latter, but am seeing some limits with the former (can't get super sharp shots at 200mm). What camera are you thinking of jumping to? The D90? For me, I'm already thinking about the D300, but maybe the money would be better spent on a better 200mm lens. @Jay

I spend plenty of my free time trying to teach myself as much as possible. I currently use the first DSLR I ever bought, a d40x. I bought this about 4 months ago so I could learn and become more involved with photography. I am still learning everyday....but I think I am starting to out grow the d40x. John,
