I have lived here on Okinawa for over two years and for some reason my wife and I miss out on the chance to see one of the great events on the island. The Great Tug of War challenge is held annually in Naha, Okinawa and draws in thousands of spectators to Kumoji crossing.
Fortunately, my wife and I had the opportunity this year to take part in the 38th annual Tug of War challenge.
The rope itself consist of two 300-foot sections weighing 44 tons. The two sections become joined by a massive 10-foot wooden peg making it a Guinness World Record.

As this past weekend came to an end I decided to try my hand at some night photography. One main hurdle of taking pictures at night is ensuring that you have a sturdy tri-pod for those really long exposures.
Some of the images required that I use my digital camera’s "bulb " setting. This allowed me to produce images with exposures longer than 30 seconds.
If you are interested, you can watch this video from the Digital Photography School website that offers great tips on night photography. You can also catch another night photography tutorial that goes a little more in depth, here .
Below is an example of one of the shots I took at Cape Maeda. This shot was a result of a 50 second exposure.

There are many different ways to make clones of yourself or an object using Photoshop. I personally prefer using multiple images and layer masks to create mine.
If you are interested in creating your own clones, you can check out a great tutorial here and try it out for yourself.
Let me know if you use a different method when it comes to creating your clones.
Below is an image I created of my dog Dingo.

I am sure you have seen tons of images of waterdrops. So, here is my first shot at trying to capture them.
All you need to remake this photo is a tripod, camera, and a bowl of water. You want to capture the droplets, so you will have to use a fast shutter speed.
I actually used the on camera flash because the lighting sucked. It is a good idea to experiment with different colored/designed bowls to give an added effect to the droplets. You can check out another tutorial at the Digital Photography School’s website.
Just be patience and experiment with things and you will eventually find one that you really like.

Let me know which one is your favorite. I personally like the second one.
