I have a quick question... I'm looking for a lense i can do a close range shoot with. I have the original 55-200mm lens of the nikon D40. What size lens should i buy for a close range shoot? I'm sick of going all the way back just to shoot in my house. Thanks and please reply! :)

I really like the 50mm 1.8d a lot. I think this everyone with a Nikon should have this lens in their arsenal. For the price, you really can't beat it. I had the d40x before the d80 but I didn't own the 50mm yet. I read that many people were getting good results on their d40/d40x/d60.

Why don't you like Rockwell?

Alfie,
I really enjoy this lens a lot. I did notice some photo's on your website that were taken with the old 50m f/1.2.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

This is a great lens. I own the old manual-focus version which I still use, along with all my other old manual Nikkors, on my D300. You have shot some great pics with this lens. I wish you many more.
