I think this everyone with a Nikon should have this lens in their arsenal. For the price, you really can't beat it. I had the d40x before the d80 but I didn't own the 50mm yet. I read that many people were getting good results on their d40/d40x/d60. Why don't you like Rockwell? I really like the 50mm 1.8d a lot.
