New Lens | 50mm f/1.8d

26 Dec

I just got a new lens and I love it. The 50mm f/1.8d lens is a super fast and sharp prime lens for Nikon DSLR camera’s. I have only had it on my D80 for a day, but I love how sharp the images are. 3467 220x140 50mm 1.8d New Lens | 50mm f/1.8d

One thing that I really like about the lens is how fast it auto focuses with my D80. One thing to note is this lens will not auto focus on the D40, D40x or D60 DSLR camera’s. I still do not think even that should discourage anyone from purchasing this great lens.

For just around $100 brand new, there is no excuse not to own this lens. If you are not completely sold on the idea of owning this prime lens, check out a review over at KenRockwell.com.

This is a great lens. I own the old manual-focus version which I still use, along with all my other old manual Nikkors, on my D300. You have shot some great pics with this lens. I wish you many more.

    Alfie,
I really enjoy this lens a lot. I did notice some photo’s on your website that were taken with the old 50m f/1.2.
Thanks for stopping by and leaving a comment.

i have this lense on my D40 and although it is a pain to have to focus it manually, it does get the results, although I have to say am not a big fan of Mr Rockwell !

I really like the 50mm 1.8d a lot. I think this everyone with a Nikon should have this lens in their arsenal. For the price, you really can’t beat it. I had the d40x before the d80 but I didn’t own the 50mm yet. I read that many people were getting good results on their d40/d40x/d60.

    Why don’t you like Rockwell?

I have a quick question… I’m looking for a lense i can do a close range shoot with. I have the original 55-200mm lens of the nikon D40. What size lens should i buy for a close range shoot? I’m sick of going all the way back just to shoot in my house. Thanks and please reply! :)
