Kegsgiving 2008

28 Nov

This year my wife and I decided to have some friends over for Thanksgiving at our house. Some of the guys from work thought that it would be a good idea to get a keg for this splendid event. This is how the first Kimball’s Kegsgiving was born.

Secret Ingredient

 Kegsgiving 2008

We had nearly 14 people show up for some good ole fashioned turkey eating. With this large number of people we decided that I would deep fry a 15 pounder and my wife would oven roast a 10 pounder. This was my first time frying a turkey, and it turned out to be one of the best turkeys I have ever had. I don’t think I ever want to eat an oven roasted turkey again.

We played a couple games of beer pong and Jenn and Danielle ended up destroying everyone and going on a 6 or 7 game win streak. I think they cheated some how, hahah!

As I mentioned earlier, there was a keg. It becomes a little more difficult trying to operate a camera after you’ve had a few beers.

It was lots of fun, here are some pictures below of the beginning of the night.

    Jay,
It looked very good, I was going to send you some instructions because your mother figured that you would burn yourself or start a fire on the back porch. I figured that you could make it work. I still don’t know why you let your sister beat you in pong? I thought that you were better at it than she was. I guess that she has had a little more practice than you…

I will be frying two turkeys tomorrow for our late thanksgiving meal. The company already had theirs and we were working so we are doing it tomorrow. I will be using a burner that doesn’t use any oil though. I will take some pictures to send.

    Love you, Both…
