I was thinking the other day about a new and fresh way to present some of my photos and stumbled across  a very popular photoblog platform called Pixelpost . According to their home page:

Pixelpost is an open-source, standards-compliant, multi-lingual, fully extensible photoblog application for the web. Anyone who has web-space that meets the requirements can download and use Pixelpost for free

I went to the website, downloaded the software and installed in no time. Unfortunately, I did run into a little snag, but I have a really geeky friend that helped me solve my problem in about 20 minutes. The install and configuring was really easy and can be done by anyone with minimal computer knowledge. The great thing is that if you don’t understand something, you can always check out their forums for a wealth of information.

I am currently using the pixelpost template switchy created by Kevin Crafts . I really like this theme a lot because of how simplistic and professional looking it is. I went on the forum and found a couple of great tweaks that really make it my own.

You can check out what I have created by going to jasonkimball.org/photography . Pixelpost really gives me the opportunity to showcase my photography separate from my blog and I really love that. There is only one photo displayed at a time, but visitors still have the opportunity to leave comments.

Here is a screen shot…I think you should check out the real thing!

I love it. I even like that the RSS Feed attaches the photos. Subscribed! You should now create a photography.jasonkimball.org domain.
